Michel Olofsson
Born to a Swedish father and a Mozambican mother, Michel was born in Mozambique and spent his childhood living in Sweden and Mozambique. With this unique perspective, he founded Project Vita in 2015 with a vision of making a difference for people in Mozambique. Michel wanted a different kind of nonprofit, where people could share and combine their knowledge to help others lift themselves out of poverty.
Determined to make his vision a reality, Michel worked long hours in Norway to fund Project Vita, eventually moving to Mozambique and living in a tent for a year as he worked to get the organization off the ground. He currently lives full-time in Mozambique, running the day-to-day operations on the ground in Mozambique. His duties include everything from liaising with local government officials to working as an onsite construction foreman.
Michel has a Bachelor's degree in Social Science with a minor in Political Science. He has dedicated his life to making social change and inspiring people to follow their dreams. His inspiring leadership style, strategic vision, and genuine empathy have made Project Vita the fast-growing nonprofit that it is today.
