LIGHT UP LINGA LINGA

Illuminate Lives: Empowering Rural Communities and Clinics with Light

When Michel Olofsson, founder of Project Vita, asked the people of the village Linga Linga what they wished for the most, their answer were energy and light sources. Thanks to a generous donation their wishes will now come true!

In a world where light is often taken for granted, millions of people lack access to this basic necessity. According to the World Bank, only 3.8% of the rural population in Mozambique has electricity while urban areas thrive with 75% electrification.

But change is on the horizon. We have forged a powerful partnership with the  Norwegian company, Bright Products, to bring light to rural communities and clinics in Inhambane province. It hasn't been an easy journey, battling through sea, land, and bureaucratic hurdles, but we have triumphed.

Our mission goes beyond providing light; we strive to establish sustainable energy solutions for rural communities and clinics. We aim to create a replicable model that can be scaled up across Mozambique, reaching diverse regions and communities and on day throughout Africa.

Join us on this illuminating journey, as we brighten lives, uplift spirits, and inspire change. Together, we can transform darkness into brilliance and pave the way for a brighter future.

JÄMTKRAFT supports with 15’000 SEK to #LIGHTUPLINGALINGA!

Jämtkraft is an energy company based in Jämtland in northern Sweden. They aim for sustainability in all dimensions and it is an integral part of their entire business. The ambition is for all decisions to be socially, economically, environmentally and climate sustainable. Therefore, it was easy for them to make the decision to contribute with 15'000 SEK to the transport of solar lamps and solar systems as it aligns with their vision.

Through their contribution, they are supporting Project Vita to bring light to around 490 households in Linga Linga, clinics and also many more villages in rural Mozambique. Together with others, they have the power to help future generations live their lives, both in the Jämtland region but also in the rest of the world.

A heartfelt thank you!

Michel Olofsson, founder of Project Vita
