Info spreading covid-19

INCREASE KNOWLEDGE IN PREVENTIVE ACTIONS AGAINST COVID-19

In 2020 when the pandemic started to strike Mozambique, Project Vita joined forces with the organizations Aproc, APEMO, and Kuvuneka to work with the health department of Morrumbene municipality to spread information in the public spaces of rural areas on how to minimize the spread of Covid-19. Providing information on Covid-19 has been critical in the rural areas, which often do not receive sufficient help and suffer from too few health resources.

During the campaign to inform community members, posters were put up in several public spaces to explain  main actions to take to prevent infection (see image below). Volunteers also used a megaphone to provide information about Covid-19 answer questions from the public.

This project targeted Sustainable Development Goals 3.d: Strengthen the capacity of all countries, in particular developing countries, for early warning, risk reduction and management of national and global health risks; and SDG 6.b: Support and strengthen the participation of local communities in improving water and sanitation management.

Um futuro melhor.

“For a better future”

A music video made in collaboration with Project Vita’s designer Sara Gunnarsson and the Mozambican musician Emanual 12 Barras.

The music describes how one can prevent the spread of Covid-19. Its aim was to through colours and hope provide information to the population in Mozambique. The music was broadcast on radio in Mozambique, but also shown on national TV during commericals.
