maternity care with solar-powered solution

In the spring of 2024, we joined forces with Senergia AB and Longi Solar to bring vital improvements to the maternity clinic in Linga Linga. A dedicated team from Sweden collaborated with local experts to install a solar-driven water pump, solar panels, and a reliable water supply system for the clinic's various infrastructures.

On the day we completed the installation and saw water flowing from the taps, one of our team members expressed a heartfelt wish: "It would be so amazing if we could witness a birth using this new system before we leave." Amazingly, just hours after we departed, a mother arrived at the clinic to give birth.

When we returned the following day, we saw the maternity clinic's door open. The nurses shared their joy with us, explaining how the availability of running water now allows them to focus entirely on their patients, without the burden of fetching water from the well.

With this new solar-powered water tower and tap system, the clinic now ensures improved hygiene and safer childbirths. This collaboration showcases the power of corporate social responsibility and the impact it can have on improving the living standards in rural Mozambique.
